“Your gunshots blended in with all the other gunshots in the area.” Where the hell are they? A warzone?!

@Aasgier – I’m not sure what it says about me, but I thought that line was hilarious!

@Westside Guy: The line was pretty funny, but it raised several questions.
Unless you take it to its logical extreme and the police is actually afraid to patrol there.

I’m not American (as you probably have deduced from my nickname), so I have no clue how realistic such ghetto’s are.

I’m wondering about the previous hit team, too. Is she (the “witch”) actually drawing them together to fight… something else?

Oh yeah, Lane! Forgot about him.

Actually, I was thinking of the future crew – Maxine, Tres, Toroth, and Lao, from the Dec 2012 panels. The “witch” is viscous, but she keeps testing them, checking to see that they are getting stronger and working together as a team.

Methinks something else is underneath, and Hawk’s doing a good job of laying the groundwork. If you’ve ever seen the movie “Circle of Iron” with David Carradine, think of him stopping to repair a fence while chased by bandits, or breaking the nose of a boy… all is not as it seems with the “witch” at first glance.
