Even if he had brought the return potion, the place they’re in seems to be something akin to the “time of legends” or perhaps a different universe, so idk whether the potion would have even worked from there.
With where they are, it makes sense to leave the return potion behind. They can be literally anywhere at this point, so the potion might displace them even more, or worse, kill them.
