Prediction for next page: they ask her to just be herself instead of making such a promise, and offer to be more supportive, especially if she can explain the “good cause” she mentioned.
If she thinks they want a “good little girl”, evidently she has forgotten their reaction to her refusal to conform to the conventions of society in #345 (“Home With the Howards”)
P.S. According to #344 and #346, their first names are Richard and Karen. Did the foster father’s name get changed to Clint at some point, or did Sunny goof up on his name in the message here?
It was actually ME who messed up his name. Thanks for finding that! I’ve fixed it, and now I’m browsing through the comic to try to figure out who “Clint” was.
EDIT: Oh yeah… Clint is Sunny’s real dad’s name.
@Casta – there’s no reason not to think Hawk was playing around with time a bit for the purpose of developing the narrative and mood of this page. I just assumed panel 6 was not lined up with the others time-wise.
Alternatively, there are tools that let you pre-schedule SMS messages and emails.
@Westside Guy good point. She probably sent it right before going to sleep, but with how crazy everything has been in the city the cell towers are lagging with the demand, and it just took that long for the message to get to Karen’s phone.
AWWWW….
I seem to have something in my eye…
damn… who’s chopping onions over here???

If Sunny is asleep, is Lane (or one of the e-girls) texting her foster parents on her behalf?

More loose ends starting to tie up. Is the team ready for whatever the witch has planned?
