Here’s a little tidbit: I was never able to think of clever names for the two women of Misery Inc (how do you do something with “Velma” and “Daphne”?) so the two remain unnamed.

Daphne is the dryad pursued by apollo and transformed into a laurel. One type of laurel, the mountain laurel, has a variety of nicknames for killing sheeps, calves and kids; its called the Kalmia. Its not readily recognizable like scooby vs stabbie, but its referential and stuff.
‘bale’ is a word for evil or destructive, so maybe Balema?
Indeed, Alec – what ARE you doing?!
Evil velma => Emma Velma => E. Velma => sounds like ‘evilma’
It is not particularly clever but my idea for the Velma character was Vilma since she is a villainous Velma. As for the Daphne parody I see the word “Apathy” as an oblique ryhme that may work.
I actually like Hawk’s explanation of why the girls don’t have names, and would vote to leave them as is (yeah, yeah, this isn’t a democracy).
It also would add a trivia twist to any bar bet, should two Culture Shock fans ever be out drinking together.
I was more amazed that, as the seasons went on, the front seat of the Mystery Machine got wider, and wider, wider… Originally, Fred and Daphne were on the front seats, and Velma rode in the back with Shaggy & Scooby. But then suddenly, they have three seated in the front… with ample room between them! Much more than in the illustration of today’s update. I think later it even had all four seated together!
And the other problem, which today’s update also falls prey to: our Daphne double is sitting where the van’s ENGINE BLOCK should be housed.
Hmm, Even Alec isn’t so out of modern culture that he would think he could shoulder-ram a van full of people.
Does he plan to jump through the windshield? I could believe he is ignorant enough to think that would work.
Selma is an old take on Velma, as for Daphne, go simple. Call her Dani
I miss the dish ;_;, hope everyone is doing fine
Vilema
Oh man, I bet Alec’s been waiting to do this since Tadashi stopped that last car with shurikens. *
